Report on Independence Day Celebrations – 2025-26
The Independence Day celebration at JSS Public School, JSSTIS Campus, Mysuru, was held with great patriotism and enthusiasm on 15th August 2025 in the school premises. The campus was adorned with tricolour decorations, creating an atmosphere of national pride and joy.
The programme commenced with the Hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, Group Captain Sri Shivaraj, followed by the National Anthem sung in unison by students, staff, and dignitaries. This was succeeded by the General Salute and a melodious Flag Song rendered by the school choir. The March Past by the school contingents showcased discipline and coordination.
The celebrations continued with the soulful rendition of Vandemataram, a Speech in Kannada, and the Presidential Address by The Principal, Mrs. Suma K.B. In her address, she congratulated the students for their spirited participation and appreciated the staff for their dedicated efforts in making the event a success. She reminded the gathering of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and urged everyone to cherish and protect the hard-earned freedom. Emphasizing the role of youth in nation-building, she encouraged students to cultivate discipline, respect for values, and a sense of responsibility towards society. Her words inspired all present to contribute positively to the progress of the nation.
The cultural festivities concluded with a lively Fusion Dance. The programme ended with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Gayanavi, expressing gratitude to all contributors, dignitaries, and participants.
Investiture Ceremony Report
The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2025–26 was held on 17th June 2025. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, ACP Mr. Satisha H.P and our Principal, Mrs. Suma K.B.
The proceedings began with a ceremonial march past by the four school houses – Challengers, Explorers, Pioneers, and Voyagers who marched with pride and precision, accompanied by the vibrant tunes of the school band with Karan Vivek’s clear command to begin the March Past. All the houses, dressed in their distinct colours, showcased unity, discipline, and team spirit.
The school band, under the leadership of Band Captain Chinmayi N., impressed everyone with their synchronized performance and striking uniforms, setting the tone for the grandeur of the event.
JSS Public school celebrated the 76th Republic Day on 26th January 2025 with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The celebrations began early in the morning as the teachers assembled near the flagpole at 8:00 a.m. The flagpole was beautifully decorated with colourful Rangoli and fresh flowers, adding a festive touch to the atmosphere. Floral tribute was paid to the portraits of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi.
In view of Azadi ka Amruth Mahotsav , a lot of activities were conducted like fancy dress competition, colour the given national flag, drawing and coloring of national flag and national fruit, drawing and coloring of national flag and national emblem, patriotic singing, essay writing, Elocution from 1st August to 6th August for all the classes ( kindergarten to x std). The children participated in the events with great zeal and patriotism. The prizes to the winners in these competitions were distributed on 15th August by the Chief Guest in the school premises.
The School has organisations/Clubs/Societies that organize various activities to develop the skills and extract the best out of every child. These scholastic and co scholastic clubs are a great way to explore the interest of any student or even develop new ones.
Providing students experiences beyond the walls of the classroom is vital, as they look at their first-hand experiences from different perspectives. Such experiences enhance skills such as detailing, analysis, enquiry and problem solving in everyday situations.
JSS Public School’s specially designed learning events, field trips and outdoor activities conducted across the grades help students see the relevance of their knowledge in real-life situations.
JSS Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru, conducted AYUSH Awareness Programme and Health Promotion talk to the students of our school in order to commemorate 75th year of Independence- “AZADI KA AMRIT MOHOTSAV” to achieve the objective of national health policy to provide Health for all.
Report on World Environment Day celebration
World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and awareness at JSS Public School, Jsstis campus, Mysore on 5th June 2025. The event aimed at instilling a sense of responsibility among students towards the environment and promoting sustainable practices in their daily lives.
The day began with a special morning assembly dedicated to the theme “Beat plastic pollution”;. Many activities were conducted to highlight and preserve the environmemt.
To mark the occasion, a variety of activities were conducted: Plantation Drive: Students from various classes participated in planting saplings in and around the school campus.Poster Making & Slogan Writing: Creative posters and catchy slogans promoting eco-friendly habits adorned the school corridors.
A two days ‘Craft awareness programme’ was held on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrith Mahotsav’, on 23rd December and 24th December 2021, organised by MHRD, Ministry of textiles, Government of India was held in the school premises to the classes 6th, 7 th, 8 th and 9th. Sri. Sunil Kumar K S, Assistant Director (H), HSC, Mysuru coordinated the programme . The Chief Guest was Sri. Morabada Mallikarjuna, Director , Publication Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha Mysuru, Sri. G . Puttaswamy , Manager, Multi craft complex, Mysuru and other craftsmen attended and demonstrated the Handicrafts- wood carving, clay modelling, cane weaving and making of chennapatna dolls to the students.

The 106 Jayanthi celebration of Paramapujya Jagdguru Sri Rajendra Mahaswamigalavaru was celebrated on 15th September 2021. The programme started with lighting of lamp and offering flowers to Parampujya Guru with Guru Namana. The importance of the day was spoken by Sri .Tontadarya, Department of Kannada. Incharge Principal Sri . Guruprasad reminisced about the leniage of Suttur Guru parampara and motto of social service for the upliftment of the downtrodden by these ‘Gurudwayas’.
The students of JSSPS celebrated Gandhi Jayanti by showcasing their artistic skills and indulging in discussions based on Mahatma Gandhi and his teachings, making the day a memorable one to cherish by expressing their love and affection towards the great leader.
Ramakrishna Institute of moral and Spiritual Education had organised Essay writing both in Kannada and English , Elocution in Kannada and English , painting and yogasana competition on 11th of July and 17th of July , in view of Azadi ka Amruth Mahotsav , in which out of 16 participants four students have bagged the prizes . The winners are –

These prizes were given to the students on 16th of August.
The feathers are added to the cap of JSS Public School, JSSTIS Campus, Mysore when our students Sushravya S and Dhruti M of std. X bagged the I Place in Sciporium 2k22 and I Place in Science Carnival competitions organized by Hari Vidyalaya and Jnanodaya PU College, Mysore. They were presented with a Momento, Certificate and a cash prize of Rs.10,000/- and Rs. 5000/- respectively. The Science Carnival included Model Making, Science Quiz, Science talk in which Ridhi and Tanmayi of class X have bagged III place in Science Quiz Competition.Hasini M V and Avani R K were awarded participation certificates. The Management, Principal and staff have congratulated the winners.
The Department of Science of JSSPS, SJCE , had organized National Science Day celebration on 28th Feb 2022. The programme started with inaugural function by lighting the lamp which symbolizes brightness & purity by the Incharge Principal Sri Guruprasad, Smt. H.S.Savitha welcomed the gathering, Smt. C.Maheswariprasad highlighted the significance of National Science Day stressing on the Theme for 2022 is “Integrated approach in science & technology for a sustainable future”
Various activities were conducted for all the classes to mark the day.
